Install the app on your phone
On a computer you play XLords in the browser at game.xlords.tech. On a phone or tablet, a normal browser tab does not run the game. It shows Install XLords to play instead. Add the game to your home screen once, then open it from the icon. Playing through the Telegram Mini App needs no install.
Which way to play
Section titled “Which way to play”| Where you play | Install needed? |
|---|---|
| Computer browser | No. |
| Phone or tablet browser tab | Yes. The game shows the install screen. |
| Installed app (home-screen icon) | Already installed. |
| Telegram Mini App | No. |
The screen says: “The kingdom runs full screen in landscape. Add it to your home screen and play from there.” The installed app opens full screen with no address bar. On Android it also tries to hold landscape for you, so you are less likely to hit a “rotate your phone” message.
Install on Android
Section titled “Install on Android”Chrome or Edge: if the screen shows Click here to install, tap it and confirm. If you closed the install sheet, or there is no button, do it by hand:
- Tap the ⋮ menu, top right.
- Choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
- Launch XLords from your home screen.
Samsung Internet: tap the ☰ menu, bottom right, choose Add page to, then Home screen, then launch XLords from your home screen.
Firefox: tap the ⋮ menu, choose Install, then launch XLords from your home screen. The install screen also says “Chrome installs it in one tap”, so Chrome is the easiest choice if you can use it.
Install on iPhone or iPad
Section titled “Install on iPhone or iPad”Only Safari can add the game to an iPhone or iPad home screen.
- In Safari, tap Share in the toolbar.
- Choose Add to Home Screen.
- Launch XLords from your home screen.
If you are in Chrome, Firefox, or Edge on iPhone, the screen asks you to copy the page link (Copy link), paste it into Safari, then follow the steps above.
You opened the link inside another app
Section titled “You opened the link inside another app”Links opened inside Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, Zalo, KakaoTalk, LINE, WeChat, and similar apps open in that app’s own mini browser, which cannot install anything. The screen is titled Open in your browser and says “This app cannot install games. Open the link in a browser first.”
- From a Telegram link: “Tap ⋮ top right, then Open in browser.”
- From Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, or Zalo: “Tap ••• top right, then Open in external browser” (or “Open in browser”).
- On Android, Open in Chrome opens the page in Chrome for you.
Then follow the Android or iPhone steps above.
After you install
Section titled “After you install”The install screen changes to Installed: “Close this tab and open XLords from your home screen.” Close the browser tab and use the XLords icon from now on. If you keep opening the game from a browser tab, you will keep seeing the install screen.
Landscape
Section titled “Landscape”XLords is played in landscape. In portrait you see Landscape Required: “XLords is played in landscape. Rotate your device to landscape to continue.” The sign-in screens work in portrait. The game does not.
- Android: swipe down from the top of the screen, turn on Auto-rotate, then turn your phone sideways.
- iPhone: swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Center, turn off Portrait Orientation Lock, then turn your phone sideways. iPhone home-screen apps cannot lock the orientation, so you always rotate by hand.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- No “Click here to install” button: your browser does not offer one-tap install. Use the manual steps for your browser above, or open the page in Chrome.
- The install screen keeps showing after you installed: you are still in a browser tab. Open XLords from the home-screen icon.
- A tablet gets the install screen too: yes. Phones and tablets are treated the same.
- Sign-in problems: see Signing in and your account.
If you followed the steps for your browser and the install screen still blocks you, play from a computer or through the Telegram Mini App for now, neither needs an install, and open a ticket from there. Include your phone model, operating system version, and browser name. See Contact support.
