Attack refused, missing alerts and missing castles

此内容尚不支持你的语言。

Quick answer: the game checks every attack twice, when you send it and when your army arrives. Each refusal shows a short message, and the message tells you which rule stopped you. Alerts and reports have their own rules too. A castle can be missing from the map because its owner is suspended, or because it was offline for a long time.

You see What it means What to do
“Target is under shield protection.” The castle has an active Shield. A suspended account also shows as shielded, and you are not told which. Pick another target. See Shield.
“Cannot attack yourself” The target is your own castle or tile. Pick another target.
“You can’t attack a member of your own guild.” Attacks and rallies against your own guild are refused. Pick a target outside your guild.
“You must include troops to deploy an army.” The army has no troops. Add troops and send again.
“Hero is not active” A hero you picked is badly wounded, dead or otherwise unavailable. A lightly wounded hero can still go. Pick another hero or heal this one. See Hero status.
“Invalid item type” What you tapped is no longer what the map showed, for example a monster that is already gone. Refresh the map and tap the target again.

Army limits, the march slot limit and the troop cap are explained in Marches, recall, rallies and reinforcements and March capacity.

If you send an army and the target raises a Shield before it arrives, the army turns around and goes home. See Shield.

Regions: “blocked because the castles are in different development regions”

Section titled “Regions: “blocked because the castles are in different development regions””

Your region decides who you can attack. The messages you can see:

  • “This action is blocked because the castles are in different development regions.” You and the target are not in the same province, or one of you is in War City and the other is not.
  • “New Settlement does not allow hostile player actions.” Nobody in New Settlement can attack, scout or rally against castles.
  • “Finish graduation before starting another map action.” You or the target is in the middle of a graduation.
  • “Armies cannot march across development region boundaries.”
  • “Region rules couldn’t be loaded. Military actions remain unavailable until the rules refresh.” Try again later.

The full rules and what decides your region are in Development Zones. If attacks or gathering stop working right after you migrate or relocate, check these messages first. See Moving your castle.

Fortress. Only a castle in War City can attack a fortress. Every other castle is refused by the region rules. You also need to be in a guild, be in the same kingdom as the fortress, and Kingdom War must be running. While the fortress is in Protection you see “Fortress is protecting”. The full list is in Fortress.

Standing near a fortress does not make a castle immune. The fortress rings only stop players from raising a Shield or moving a castle in.

Stronghold gate. “The gate is closed” can mean several things:

  • “The gate is closed — you can only attack it while it is open.” You tried to hit the gate while it is closed.
  • “The gate is closed — armies cannot leave the Stronghold zone.”
  • “The gate is closed — you cannot gather inside this Stronghold.”
  • “This castle is protected while the Stronghold gate is closed.” The castle you picked is inside another guild’s Stronghold.
  • “Your guild cannot attack its own Stronghold.”

Who can open or close the gate is in Stronghold.

When you are attacked. When an enemy march is heading for your castle, the game shows a red warning at the screen edge on the map and a row in your Watchtower. If you are on another screen, it shows a warning pop-up instead.

The warning covers attacks, scouts, rally attacks from another guild, and attacks on a resource tile you are gathering. Your own guildmates joining your rally do not set it off. In a fortress fight, everyone in the fight is warned when an army that is not theirs is on its way. The first attacker hears nothing until a second army appears.

Notifications. The game tells you to turn on notifications so you can react to incoming attacks. Alerts reach a device only if they are turned on for it (Setting → More → Notification, see Settings).

  • The attack alert is sent whenever notifications are on, even if you were in the game a moment ago. The game cannot confirm that your phone, browser or Telegram showed it.
  • The alert for a new battle report is skipped when you were active in the game in the last 5 minutes.
  • When a guild Stronghold is scouted or attacked, its R4 and R5 officers and the owners of troops stationed there get an alert, and the officers also get a mail.

Reports. A report appears in Mail → Reports after the fight is resolved. You only see reports you took part in. See Battle reports.

Things that can look wrong in a battle report:

  • “Calculating…” next to your USD loot. The loot or stake of that fight is still being settled, and the report updates by itself when the amount is final. If it stays for a long time, send the Battle ID to support. See USDT battle loot.
  • EXP is blank or 0 in a rally report. EXP is shared among the players who fought on each side by troop count, and the report shows the amount written for you. It reads 0 when your side did no damage to enemy troops, when none of your soldiers survived, or when the wall held. If you fought, the enemy lost troops and it is still blank, send the Battle ID to support.
  • The report names you or your guildmates on both sides. The game does not fight you against yourself or your guild. It refuses such an attack when you send it and again when the army arrives, and an army that finds its target in your guild turns around with no battle. A rally report lists every member of your own side, so your guildmates appear next to you. Open Battle Report to see Attack Coalition and Defense Coalition. The enemy side is one Total line. If a report truly names you on both sides, send the Battle ID to support.
  • The battle location opens the wrong kingdom. Tap the location in the report to jump to it on the map, in the kingdom that owns that spot. Older versions of the game could skip the jump for spots outside the War City area; this was fixed in game version 2.1.36. If the map still lands somewhere unexpected, reload the game and try again, then send the Battle ID and a screenshot to support.
  • Scouting blocked. If the owner has Anti-Scout, the scout sees “Target’s Anti-Scout blocked your scout.” The owner sees “Your Anti-Scout blocked it — they got no information.” A Shield blocks scouting of a castle in the same way.
  • Allied reinforcements do not show in a scout report. What a scout report tells apart depends on the Scout Level of the player who scouts. From Intelligence Report Level 4 the report lists Allied reinforcements apart from the owner’s own troops, and from Level 5 it also shows size ranges and the leader. Below that it says “This report can’t confirm allied reinforcements.” If the owner used Scout False Info, every troop number in the report, reinforcements included, is multiplied. A report only shows the moment of scouting.

The Watchtower warns you about incoming armies. A higher Watchtower level reveals more about each one:

Watchtower level What you see
1 An alert with the kind of march (attack, scout, resources)
5 The player’s name, avatar and coordinates
7 The remaining travel time
10 Their guild, an army size range and how many heroes they bring
13 Basic hero information
15 The troop types
17 Troop tiers and size ranges
20 The exact number of troops
23 Hero level and grade, but not skills
26 Hero gear names, slots and grades, but not stats
30 For a rally attack, the rally captain

Enemies can hide their marches from your Watchtower with Anti-Scout items, and so can you.

There are three different reasons, and they look alike on the map.

  1. The owner is suspended. The castle is taken off the map within minutes. Nobody can attack it, and attackers see the Shield message. If a suspension is lifted, the castle is rebuilt at a new spot the next time the owner opens the game. Nothing in this rule deletes the castle.
  2. The owner was away for a long time. A castle leaves the map after 30 days offline in New Settlement. Each higher region adds 5 days: 35, 40, then 45 days. The owner leaves their guild, and a guild leader first hands the guild to the most active member. The owner gets a mail “Your Castle Left the Map”. The castle is rebuilt at a new spot the next time they play, with the mail “Your Castle Is Back”.
  3. The castle was moved, not hidden. A castle that stays offline can be moved further from the kingdom centre after 3, 7, 14, 21, 30 and 45 days offline. The mail tells you the new position. A castle is not moved while it has an active Shield (it stops protecting after 30 days offline, and the free new-player Shield never protects), while armies are out, or if it is above level 15. Accounts that earned real USDT get 7 extra days before the moves start.

If your own castle is missing and you were online, open the game again. A hidden castle is put back on your next visit.

The Transmutation Lab is switched off at this version, so the game does not offer to build or upgrade it. A Lab that was already built is kept and cannot be upgraded while the feature is off. It was not deleted.

  1. Note the exact message and the time. Open a ticket from Setting → More → Support (Contact support).
  2. For a report, include the Battle ID (Copy battle ID). See Battle reports.
  3. For a missing castle, say whether you were online and the last time you logged in. Support cannot say whether a suspension will be lifted.
  4. If buildings show level 1 after you log in, reload the game first. If they still look wrong, send a screenshot with your ticket. TBD (needs source) for why this happens.
  5. A generic server error with no message: wait a minute and try again, then contact support with the time.
