Quick answer: short answers to common questions about shields, Strongholds, fortresses and kingdom titles; each links to the full page.

Why did my shield disappear, and can I get a refund?

Section titled “Why did my shield disappear, and can I get a refund?”

A shield ends when its timer runs out, when you attack, scout, join a rally or send reinforcements (Battle Fury), or when you turn on the War Chest. The full list is on Shield rules. We cannot promise a refund. If your shield ended with no timer running out and no action of yours, open a ticket with the time and the shield you used (see If something goes wrong).

Can all castles get a temporary shield during updates or server problems?

Section titled “Can all castles get a temporary shield during updates or server problems?”

During a maintenance window, attacks, rallies and scouting are paused for everyone, so no castle can be hit. The game says “Attacks, rallies and scouting are paused while the server is under maintenance. Try again when maintenance ends.”

The team can also give castles a temporary maintenance shield. It only adds time: it never shortens or replaces a longer shield you already have. We cannot promise one for any given update.

If your own shield looks shorter after maintenance, open a ticket with the time and the shield you used. See Shield rules.

Open My Bag, go to the Combat tab, tap a Shield item, then tap Use. To buy one, check the Store (Shop and packs); the shields on sale change over time. A new shield replaces your current one and does not add to it. See Shield rules.

How do I defend my castle when someone is attacking it?

Section titled “How do I defend my castle when someone is attacking it?”

Raise a shield. An enemy army that is already marching at you turns around when it arrives. You cannot raise a shield inside a fortress ring or a Stronghold, while Battle Fury is running, or while the War Chest is on. Shields and allied help do not mix: raising a shield sends allied troops in your castle home, and allied armies still marching to you block a new shield. See Shield rules and Marches and rallies.

Why does the attack warning go off when I see no shield or enemy?

Section titled “Why does the attack warning go off when I see no shield or enemy?”

The warning appears the moment an enemy army starts marching at your castle: “Enemy forces approaching! An enemy army is marching on your castle. Reinforce your defenses now!” It does not depend on a shield.

  • No shield on your castle means nothing is protecting you right now, so the march was allowed.
  • The enemy army may be off your screen, so open the map and look for it.
  • A shield raised after the march started still turns the army around when it arrives.

See Shield rules.

Can I buy a shield with USDT, or without AURO?

Section titled “Can I buy a shield with USDT, or without AURO?”

You cannot pay for a shield with USDT. The 8-hour shield is sold for 500 Gems, 500 AURO or 150,000 Guild Coin.

AURO pays from your available (unlocked) AURO. If the game says “AURO payments have ended. Your AURO was converted to USDT in your wallet.”, AURO cannot pay: use Gems or Guild Coin.

The 12-hour, 1-day, 3-day, 7-day and 14-day shields are no longer on sale, but ones already in My Bag still work. Check the Store for what is on sale today (Shop and packs).

How do Battle Fury and Bounty Mode affect my shield, and how do I turn them off?

Section titled “How do Battle Fury and Bounty Mode affect my shield, and how do I turn them off?”

Battle Fury ends by itself after a few minutes, and the length depends on your castle level. Any new attack, scout, rally or reinforcement restarts it. See the table on Shield rules. Bounty Mode comes from charging the War Chest. To end it, tap Turn off War Chest and wait for the 8-hour countdown to finish before you raise a shield. See War Chest.

Right now it does not protect anyone. The rule that blocks attacks when the attacker’s Might is much higher than yours is switched off on production. Who can attack you depends on your map region, not on a Might gap. See Development Zones.

Why did my Stronghold disappear, and can it be restored?

Section titled “Why did my Stronghold disappear, and can it be restored?”

Three things remove it from your guild:

  • Your guild leader (R5) demolished it. The ground is freed at once. Founding a new one costs another Stronghold Order, and nothing is refunded.
  • An enemy guild won the Temple fight. The Stronghold stays on the map and passes to that guild at once, with its level and walls kept. Your troops stationed there go home. Your guild needs another Stronghold Order to found a new one.
  • Your guild was disbanded. The Stronghold is demolished, with no waiting period, unless an enemy guild was already holding its Temple.

We cannot promise to restore a Stronghold. See Guild Stronghold.

Your guild won the Temple fight at another guild’s Stronghold, so it now owns that one as well. A captured Stronghold keeps its level and walls and stays where it is, and your own Stronghold is not touched. The game does not stop a guild from holding more than one. Each one has its own card in the Stronghold list on your guild screen. See Guild Stronghold.

Why can’t I see my Guild Stronghold on the map?

Section titled “Why can’t I see my Guild Stronghold on the map?”

Open Guild. The guild information screen lists each of your guild’s Strongholds under Guild Stronghold, with its level and X/Y coordinates. Tap View to close the guild screen and jump the map to it.

A card shows “Stronghold under attack” or “The walls have been breached” when that applies. If the Guild Stronghold list is missing, the list did not load or your guild does not own a Stronghold right now. Reopen the guild screen, and read Why did my Stronghold disappear. See Guild Stronghold.

What does error 16111 mean when I place a Stronghold?

Section titled “What does error 16111 mean when I place a Stronghold?”

16111 reads “The Stronghold rebuild cooldown is still running.” The game does not apply a waiting time to placing a Stronghold after a demolish or a takeover, so you should not see this error. If you do, send support the time and a screenshot.

A refused placement usually has another reason:

  • A red ring: too close to another Stronghold, water, the kingdom border or a blocked footprint.
  • “Not enough Stronghold Orders”.
  • A rank below R4.

A guild that lost or demolished its Stronghold needs another Order to found a new one. See Guild Stronghold.

Why is my Stronghold upgrade stuck or not starting?

Section titled “Why is my Stronghold upgrade stuck or not starting?”

Read the line under the Upgrade Stronghold button. It names the reason:

  • “A build is already running.”
  • “Repair the breached walls before starting a new upgrade.”
  • “The Temple cannot outrank the Stronghold — raise the Stronghold first.”

Only R4 and R5 officers can start an upgrade. If a castle or building blocks the wider ring (“Level N pushes the walls outward — the new ring must be clear of castles and buildings.”), the level still rises, and the zone widens once the ring is clear.

Only R4 and R5 officers can start a repair, and only for a wall that is missing HP.

  • The cost is paid from the Guild Warehouse when you start: 250 Wood for each 1% of the wall’s HP that is missing, and half that amount in Stone.
  • A repair takes 45 minutes, and only one repair runs at a time.
  • Repairing a wall that has fallen brings it back at 50% HP, not full. You then repair the rest.

If a repair fails to start, try again: the same repair is not charged twice. If a repair still shows as running after 45 minutes, send support the time and the wall. See Guild Stronghold.

Check that you are an R4 or R5 officer, that the guild’s Fortification research has unlocked that trap tier, that the batch is a multiple of 100 and within the batch limit, that the Guild Warehouse can pay, and that no other workshop order is running. If all of that is fine and it still fails, send support the time and a screenshot. See Guild Stronghold.

Why was my wall destroyed so fast, or why is it losing HP?

Section titled “Why was my wall destroyed so fast, or why is it losing HP?”

A wall has its own HP and Defense, so a wall with no troops or traps behind it can still be broken, and Siege Engines break walls fastest. Walls also lose HP slowly every day: 1% a day at Temple level 0, and each Temple level cuts that loss by another 5% of the base amount, so Temple level 15 loses 0.25% a day. Officers get a warning when a wall drops low. See Guild Stronghold.

Why can enemies attack castles inside a Stronghold without breaking the wall?

Section titled “Why can enemies attack castles inside a Stronghold without breaking the wall?”

They should not be able to. A castle inside an intact Stronghold of its own guild cannot be attacked from outside while the gate is closed. The army turns around and goes home.

If the gate is open, the attacker must beat the gate defense first. Once a wall is broken, castles inside lose that protection and the Temple can be attacked as well. There is no fixed order: after a breach, each new attack can target a member castle or the Temple. See Guild Stronghold.

Why can’t I attack a player inside a Stronghold?

Section titled “Why can’t I attack a player inside a Stronghold?”

Two things can stop you. A castle inside an intact Stronghold of its own guild cannot be attacked from outside while the gate is closed: your army turns around and goes home. If the gate is open, you must beat the gate defense first. Second, the game blocks attacks between players in different development regions: “This action is blocked because the castles are in different development regions.” See Development Zones and Guild Stronghold.

Can the Stronghold get a grace period or more durability?

Section titled “Can the Stronghold get a grace period or more durability?”

The Stronghold has no shield. Losing a wall does not change who owns it: ownership changes only when an enemy guild beats the defenders at the Temple, and the Temple can be attacked only after a wall has fallen. There is no grace timer in the game. Keep the walls repaired and the garrison full.

How does the shared garrison defend the walls, and do I need troops on each wall?

Section titled “How does the shared garrison defend the walls, and do I need troops on each wall?”

Every living troop in the shared garrison fights at whichever wall is attacked, however full that wall is. Troops on the wall itself, the two corner towers next to it and its traps join them. You do not need troops on every wall. A Temple fight uses the shared garrison and the Temple Keeper, with no wall, tower or trap phase. See Guild Stronghold.

No. Siege Engines deal only 5% of normal damage to infantry, ranged troops and cavalry, at any tier. They are built to break walls, not to hold them. See Guild Stronghold.

What is the Temple “Take post” button and the garrison for?

Section titled “What is the Temple “Take post” button and the garrison for?”

Send troops and a hero to the Temple, then tap Take post to become the Temple Keeper. The Keeper activates when the march arrives. Troops sent to the Temple join the shared garrison, so they defend every wall as well. If a wall has fallen, new reinforcements go to the shared garrison instead.

Yes. You can scout a Stronghold’s walls, its corner towers (the active ones) and its Temple, even before a wall has fallen. A closed gate does not stop a scout. You cannot scout your own guild’s Stronghold.

Only an Anti-Scout blocks a Stronghold scout. It must be on:

  • the captain of the wall you scout (for a corner tower, the captain of either neighbouring wall), or
  • the Temple Keeper.

A shield does not block it, and Anti-Scout on ordinary reinforcers does not count.

Why do I get no name, or no warning, when my Stronghold or fortress is scouted or attacked?

Section titled “Why do I get no name, or no warning, when my Stronghold or fortress is scouted or attacked?”
  • Stronghold. When a scout or an attack is sent at your Stronghold, your guild chat shows a warning (“Enemy scouts are probing our Stronghold.” or “Our Stronghold is under attack!”). R4 and R5 officers get a mail and a push message, and so do members with troops stationed there. The mail says “Enemy army” and gives the location, never the attacker’s name.
  • Fortress. If your guild holds or reinforces a fortress, the game shows “Your fortress is under attack” while an enemy army is marching at it. The warning is in the game, so you see it only while you are playing.
  • Castle scouts. When someone scouts your castle you get a “You were scouted” notice with their name and location, even if your Anti-Scout or shield blocked them. The notice then says “Your Anti-Scout blocked it — they got no information.” or the same for your shield.

Check that notifications are allowed for the game on your phone or in Telegram. If a warning never arrived, send support the time and the Stronghold or fortress.

Why did my troops go home instead of defending?

Section titled “Why did my troops go home instead of defending?”

The wall was full when they arrived, or it had already fallen. The game says “The whole army no longer fits this wall, so it is marching home.” or “That wall is destroyed, so the army is marching home instead of moving to the central garrison.”

Troops also go home when they arrive and the Stronghold no longer belongs to your guild, or you are no longer in that guild. Check the “stationed, arriving, free” numbers on the wall before you send, then send again. See Guild Stronghold.

Why didn’t fortress protection start after we held it for the required time?

Section titled “Why didn’t fortress protection start after we held it for the required time?”

Protection does not start for one fortress. A fortress becomes yours when you hold it for its hold countdown. Protection starts only after all five fortresses in the kingdom have owners. Then a countdown starts, and none of the five can be attacked until it ends. If other fortresses are still unowned, the round stays in the Battle Phase. See Fortresses and Kingdom War.

The guild that holds it, not one player. For the Royal Citadel, the leader of the guild that holds it is the Overlord. See Fortresses and Kingdom War.

Can several guilds garrison the same fortress?

Section titled “Can several guilds garrison the same fortress?”

No. You can send reinforcements only to a fortress that your own guild holds, and you cannot attack a fortress your guild holds. A Stronghold works the same way: only members of the owner guild can garrison it. See Fortresses and Kingdom War.

No. Reinforcing a fortress sends troops only, and you cannot add a hero to the march. See Fortresses and Kingdom War.

Does a reinforcer’s Anti-Scout protect the fortress from scouting?

Section titled “Does a reinforcer’s Anti-Scout protect the fortress from scouting?”

No. A scout of a fortress is blocked only by the Anti-Scout of the player whose army holds the fortress. Anti-Scout on guild reinforcers does not count. The scout’s report then reads “Target’s Anti-Scout blocked your scout.” and the holder gets a “You were scouted” notice. See Fortresses and Kingdom War.

You cannot. Attack, Rally Attack and Scout are all refused on a fortress that your own guild holds. If the Attack button still shows, your guild does not hold it yet: a fortress counts as held only after an army has taken it. Check which guild holds the fortress before you send troops. See Fortresses and Kingdom War.

Why can’t I send replacement troops to a fortress after mine died?

Section titled “Why can’t I send replacement troops to a fortress after mine died?”

Check these: your guild must hold the fortress, you need a free march slot, and one march cannot carry more than your reinforcement march size. The guild’s garrison there must also have room, because its limit is the holder’s Battle Hall capacity. A full garrison turns a late reinforcement back home. A reinforcement that arrives after the fortress has changed hands, or after protection has started, also turns back home. See Fortresses and Kingdom War.

What do kingdom titles like Trembling Knight, Miser and Overlord do?

Section titled “What do kingdom titles like Trembling Knight, Miser and Overlord do?”
  • Overlord: +15% attack, defense and HP for all your troops.
  • Trembling Knight: -5% cavalry attack and -10% siege attack.
  • Miser: -15% resource gathering speed.
  • Bungler: -5% forge speed and -5% march speed.

The full set is on Boosts and how they stack.

The Overlord and the High Marshal of the kingdom. Their guild must hold the Royal Citadel, and the player you give the title to must have a castle in that same kingdom.

You can manage titles from the moment your guild takes the Royal Citadel, before protection starts. Tap Assign Title for a player, or use Vassal Titles on the fortress screen. You can Assign, Replace or Revoke a title. The Overlord title itself cannot be assigned by hand.

If the buttons are missing or greyed out, you do not have one of those two titles, your guild does not hold that kingdom’s Royal Citadel, or the player is in another kingdom. Close and reopen Vassal Titles to reload the holder list. Every member of the holder guild sees the panels, but only the Overlord and High Marshal can use the title controls.

Where can I see the fortress boost I received?

Section titled “Where can I see the fortress boost I received?”

Open Boost & Stats from your profile, then the Boost tab. Attack, defense and HP boosts are listed under Battle. The fortress boost is added into those totals and is not listed on its own. It counts only for your guild’s troops of the matching type, and only while your guild holds the fortress. See Boosts and how they stack.

How do I share the Honor Chest with friends?

Section titled “How do I share the Honor Chest with friends?”

You cannot send an Honor Chest from your Bag to a friend. It is one of the four fortress reward chests (Glory Chest, Valor Chest, Honor Chest, Gallantry Chest).

Only the Overlord, the leader of the guild that holds the Royal Citadel, can share them, using Share → Gift To and the Member List of the guild. This only works once the fortress is protected. The member sees the chest in their Bag and gets a mail. See Fortresses and Kingdom War.

How do I change the Overlord of my kingdom?

Section titled “How do I change the Overlord of my kingdom?”

You cannot set the Overlord by hand. The game makes the leader of the guild that captures the Royal Citadel the Overlord at once, and takes the title away when the guild no longer holds the Royal Citadel. Other titles can be changed: the Overlord and the High Marshal can Assign, Replace or Revoke them from Vassal Titles. To get a different Overlord, the Royal Citadel must pass to another guild. See Fortresses and Kingdom War.

Either the Overlord or the High Marshal revoked or replaced it (the game mails you “Your title has been revoked by the Overlord”), or, for the Overlord title, your guild no longer holds the Royal Citadel. The boost of the title ends with it. The mail gives no reason, so ask your Overlord or High Marshal. See Boosts and how they stack.

Why does my castle or fortress show no reward?

Section titled “Why does my castle or fortress show no reward?”

A round’s rewards and treasury start from 0 each round. Nothing carries over, and whatever the Overlord has not handed out when protection ends is lost. See hold rewards shows what your guild earns for holding a fortress in the current round, so 0 is normal before your guild holds one or right after a new round starts. See Fortresses and Kingdom War.

Why does the Kingdom War banner keep coming back?

Section titled “Why does the Kingdom War banner keep coming back?”

The banner “The Kingdom War has begun. Join now!!!” shows when you log in and then repeats every 5 minutes while your own kingdom’s war is running. It stays quiet once all your kingdom’s fortresses are shielded. See Fortresses and Kingdom War.

Why are my troops stuck marching to or inside a fortress?

Section titled “Why are my troops stuck marching to or inside a fortress?”

A march to a fortress runs on its arrival timer; tap the march on the map to see it. A reinforcement that arrives when your guild no longer holds the fortress turns back home. Troops already stationed in a fortress go home when the army that holds it is recalled: that sends every guild reinforcement home too. If your troops still do not move, open a ticket with the fortress name and the time. See Fortresses and Kingdom War.

Open a ticket from Setting → More → Support and tell us the time, the Stronghold or fortress, and the message you saw. We cannot promise a refund, a restored Stronghold or a result before we check your account. See Contact support.
